Eggs and other things...

An interesting tidbit of information I received at a class I took this weekend. The speaker said,"....eggs are the menstrual cycle of a chicken." Out of everything I learned this weekend, that stuck oh so well in my memory banks. Ugh!! I really mean UGH!!! The idea that we eat the menstrual cycle of any animal is a little gross, to say the least.
As I ponder on this, I wonder why... all throughout my life I would just stop eating eggs... wouldn't want them even cooked in my presence... oh, especially if I was sleeping then was woke up by the smell of eggs... you definitely got a grumpy girl that morning. Well, that's it.. ! It's becoming more and more apparent that I will be digging my heels into this Vegan lifestyle even more. NO milk, NO cheese and NO EGGS! (period... no pun intended)
I find it funny how we (I) discover more and more information about the processed foods we eat and how very harmful chemical processed foods are or even repulsive in origin and try to share that info, that many people just don't want to hear about it. They are completely content with their ignorance. How is that? Why would anyone want to remain dumb (there was just no other way to word that!)?
... if it were bad, why would they sell it to me. Wake up people!.. the government knows just how deadly smoking is and even tell you or offer you aids to quit (which is just another ploy to get your money) and it's still legal to sell cigarettes, cigars and pipe tobacco. What?!! What is really going on here? It is so obvious yet everyone, including myself have been blinded. Blinded by what you say?? Trusting the untrustworthy!
If you don't take anything from this post, please take an interest in where your foods are coming from, how they are processed and who's preparing them. Get an education and don't be so afraid of change. Change may hurt, maybe uncomfortable and even suck in transition but it can be oh so good.

My change has come and I am so glad for it!

  1. Girl, please let me know when you get wind of a new class... I would like to come to these classes... Thank you mucho! Anyhow, It's true what you say, the government knows the longterm effects of all the foods we eat... it all comes down to money. It is also true that people don't want to hear the truth about the food we eat- I had a person get mad at me for telling them about tuna and mercury correlation... I mean, they "freaked" out! I was just trying to be informative and apparently ruined it for them. It's hard to tell who is open to learn or not... this kind of stuff facinates me to learn... I'm in a process of eliminating all these things that are bad for me... it's easier said than done... :-)

  2. I agree Tori.. it's not easy. Just yesterday I grabbed for regular table salt without thinking, purely from habit. What was i doing?! That is one of the main causes for the situation I'm in.

Fav. verse:... be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind. Romans 12:2 I believe it completely applies to daily living.

  3. Ewwwww - chicken mensies! Besides being gross now - what is nutritionally wron with eggs?

    Liza Rascon

  4. Liza, I can not find anything nutritionally unsound about eggs except, if the chickens are corn feed and the feed is pumped with hormones, antibiotics and steroids then you better believe, that's what's in the eggs and what's going in your children, family and friends. Now this is more than just cooking eggs for breakfast, but sauces are made from eggs, baked goods and even some drinks contain eggs.. can you be so sure that everyone else is using organic eggs (free of steroids, hormones and are grain fed) in their mixes before making and serving them to you. I can't, so besides being gross that they are a chicken's menstrual, I am unable to be sure I am getting the best for my body.
Fact: Eggs have a lot of cholesterol. The average large egg contains 212 milligrams of cholesterol. As foods go, that’s quite a bit, rivaled only by single servings of liver, shrimp, and duck meat. (
My posts are informational and are not meant to tell anyone anything other then that.. information and how that information effects me.

    Thanks for posting!

Thank so much for taking the time to leave me a comment. Encouraging words are what I love to hear!
